Selfies & Balancing Act

Whenever I go out on my own in this city, I challenge myself to take photos as much as I can, shamelessly posing in front of my camera where it's able to stand and masterfully take an outfit photo. I say "an" because generally, I'm happy to get even just one decent shot. But it's safe to say I'm getting good at it that yesterday, I was able to take multiple shots that I liked. It only took a couple of minutes too, in between exploring the neighborhood that I'm in, in the Khlong San area; looking for a good spot to chill out or a nice restaurant to eat at.

Alas, I didn't find any of the latter and went home all sweaty from the humidity that was very apparent yesterday; hungry for I hadn't eaten breakfast and it was already past noon, desperate for some solid delight. I decided to feast on some leftover chicken masala sans chicken from the day before, and brown rice that I bought pre-cooked and re-heated from 7/11. It wasn't the healthiest choice and a break my my otherwise healthy streak of healthy, home-cooked meals the previous week. But a girl's gotta live.

To make up for it though, I did treat myself to a nice dinner at this cute, hidden cafe down my apartment which served my now favorite spinach soup and mushroom pesto sandwich. As much as I love Thai food and its flavors, I can no longer consume them for more than a consequent few days having eaten only street food for nearly my whole first month here. Let's be real.

This week's all about finding the right balance. Not just with eating but with everything. I don't think I've said this in a while I almost forgot I live for balance. Maybe I kinda lost it for a moment because, for a moment, I was living a very unbalanced lifestyle. Between not working, working, freelancing, and traveling, there was nothing constant hence no balance. But I'm getting back into the swing of things and while I miss parts of Macau, I think I'm starting to find my balance here. And it feels great.

Hope you all are having a great week!
